April 19th - Vicki's birthday

Finally the day we have been working toward for the past two months, as we were
released from our service mission on February 18th.
We have the trailer all packed (we hope), hitched to the truck and are ready for our last day at the MTC and then we will hit the road for our mission to Nauvoo, Ill. We need to be there by Friday April 22nd.

It is tradition that the missionaries have their picture taken by the world map at the MTC pointing to the location of their service. We are all going to the same mission, in fact there are about 30 couples with us in the MTC who are all going to Nauvoo. We have met some really great people.

We got up to a rainy day and left home at 7:00 am with the sun trying to peek thru the clouds as we take a last look at the snow covered Timp mountain. It is a beautiful morning even with the rain.

We left the MTC at 11:30 am with high hopes of traveling a good way through Wyoming, but just before Rock Springs we had high winds and were advised to not travel any farther east with trailers. So we parked at Walmart waiting for the wind warnings to be lifted, but we ended up spending the night.
We got an early start on Wednesday and had a lunch break at Cabelas in Sidney, Neb., the food is not as good as in Utah. Actually the store is not as nice as Utah's, but they do have a huge stuffed elephant and a neat display of two bull elk fighting. We traveled to Kearney, Neb. where we were really ready to stop for the night. We spent the night in another Walmart parking lot. It is a good thing the camping is free because it costs a fortune for gas. (but I guess parking isn't really free due to shopping)
